The K90 technique developed by Salvatore Catania in 1995: removal of dents and dings by working directly on the metal, without filling, sanding or painting.
What it is
PDR (Paintless Dent Repair) is an advanced method that removes dents and dings from the bodywork by working on the metal from inside or outside, without ever needing to repaint.
Unlike traditional bodywork, PDR requires no filling, sanding or spray booth. The technician uses precision tools — rods, lifters and LED reflectors — to gradually feel and correct the deformation until the panel's original shape is restored.
The result is invisible: the factory paint remains intact, the vehicle's value is preserved and processing times are drastically reduced compared to traditional methods.
How it works
The technician positions a parallel-line reflector on the damaged surface. Deformations appear as distortions in the reflected lines, making even the subtlest damage visible.
Where possible, access is from inside the panel; alternatively, cold-glue pull systems applied from the outside are used without damaging the paint.
Using specialised rods, the technician applies controlled micro-pushes to the metal, progressively correcting the deformation zone by zone, with constant verification against the reflector.
Final check with reflector and raking light. The panel must be indistinguishable from the original both visually and to the touch.
